Russell Crowe To Make 'Cinderella Man' With Ron Howard

Russell Crowe will be reuniting with his Beautiful Mind director Ron Howard for the period boxing drama 'Cinderella Man', according to Variety.

Crowe and Howard had been looking for a film to do together after 'A Beautiful Mind', and the director liked Braddock's story.

The project, to be produced by Universal/Miramax, follows Depression-era fighter and folk hero Jim Braddock, who defeated heavyweight champ Max Baer in a 15-round slugfest in 1935.

A mid-November start date has been set for production to begin. Howard's Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer will produce, and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman will come aboard for a rewrite.
