Its Official Kill Bill Has Been Split In Two
[Wednesday, July 16th, 2003]After many of the rumors that were circulating, its official - Kill Bill is to be split into two parts, with both of them getting separate release dates, according to Reuters.
"The idea was thought of when the script was in development and after seeing the (film) footage, it made sense," said a Miramax spokesman.
With preliminary versions running at three hours, it was almost twice as long as a normal movie, meaning theaters would have fewer screenings in a day and risk losing ticket sales.
Comparisons are being made with The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revoloutions, but the main difference and may be critical is that Kill Bill wasnt designed as a two movies. And so the cliffhanger may be harder to incorporate, unless he is dismissing this concept.
The first part of the story will be released as planned on Oct. 10, with the debut date for the second part as yet to be determined, the spokesman said.
