Menno Meyjes Takes On 'The Martian Child'
[Wednesday, August 25th, 2004]Filmmaker Menno Meyjes has signed on for New Line Cinema's The Martian Child, says the Hollywood Reporter.
The project, which stars John Cusack, is about a sci-fi writer (Cusack) who, wanting to be a dad, adopts a 7-year-old boy who may be an alien. It is based on a short story by David Gerrold. Jonathan Tolins and Seth Bass wrote the original draft.
Nick Cassavetes was originally set to direct but fell out because of creative differences.
