Bale & Jackman In 'The Prestige' Talks

BatmanChristian Bale and Hugh Jackman are in talks to join Touchstone Pictures' The Prestige, says the Hollywood Reporter.

The feature, helmed by Batman Begins director Christopher Nolan, would see Bale and Jackman play rival magicians in turn-of-the-century London who battle each other for trade secrets. The rivalry is so intense that it turns them into murderers. The title refers to the residue left after a magician's successful trick.

The project is is based on Christopher Priest's 1996 novel of the same name, which has been adapted by Nolan's brother Nolan's brother, Jonathan. He also wrote the short story for Christopher's Nolan's 'Memento'.
