David Zucker To Direct Spoof Movie 'Superhero!'
[Tuesday, September 21st, 2004]
The comedy will poke fun at the multitude of superhero films, from Spider-Man to next summer's Batman Begins and Fantastic Four.
The deal comes even as the team toils on Scary Movie 4, which has been a Dimension priority since the franchise was revived with the third installment.
"When you write these films, you have to watch every movie that came out, and we realized the superhero genre was really ripe," Zucker said.
"There are definite similarities between X-Men, Spider-Man, Batman and the rest of them, about eight beats that are common to all the stories. You follow that main road, add a few more movies into the mix, and hopefully you end up with a kind of original funny movie and not just a grab-bag of jokes."
