Farrelly Bros Light Up Bergman

Movies
Helmer Andrew Bergman has boarded the 20th Century Fox comedy 'Sonny Bright,' with Peter and Bobby Farrelly producing, reports Hollywood Reporter.

The project was picked up by Fox two years ago as a spec script from writers Wayne Rice and Gina Goldman for the Farrelly brothers to produce, with Doug Liman attached to direct at the time.

'Sonny Bright' centers on a low-level government employee whose airplane seatmate just got out of jail and is on his way to a liaison with a beautiful female pen pal. When the con man abruptly dies, the man takes it upon himself to break the news to the pen pal, but she mistakes him for the ex-con and uses him to plot her own kidnapping to escape from her gangster husband.

Bergman last directed 'Isn't She Great', and previously wrote and directed 'Striptease.'
