DreamWorks Take A $3/4 Million Toad Trip Script

In a pre-emptive bid, DreamWorks has paid $750,000 against $1.5 million for the spec script "Toad Trip", reports Variety.

Human-turned-into-toad script comes from scribes Paul Tamasay ("Air Bud") and Eric Johnson.

The project is described as a family comedy centering on a man who has a spell cast on him that turns him into a toad. He has 48 hours to reverse the spell by finding true love from a human being. If not, he is doomed to be a toad forever.

The movie will combine live action and CGI effects, similar to Sony's "Stuart Little." Pic will be produced by DreamWorks-based producer John H. Williams, whose recent credits include DreamWorks all-CGI hit "Shrek" and the recently wrapped Jackie Chan action-comedy "The Tuxedo," also for DreamWorks.

John Williams' studio-based Vanguard Films is producing.
