Russell Crowe is reportedly set to star in a film version of 1960's TV show 'Hogan's Heroes,' reported The Hollywood Reporter.

A script for the film version of the wartime sitcom has been written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. The British pair wrote TV comedies such as 'Porridge' and 'Auf Wiedersehen Pet.'

Hogan's Heroes followed the misadventures of an American colonel and his international crew who sabotaged German war efforts while imprisoned in a Nazi prisoner of war camp. The Germans were portrayed as bumbling characters, and the camp was reminiscent of a hotel complete with a steam room and chef.
